Finally finished my new CanYak paddle. It's 244cm, separates in the middle with one side converting to a straight shaft single paddle, and uses some of the same cedar used in my Merlin. The entire paddle weighs less than one half of my last one. The notches near the top of the blades is the drip protection. They work much better than the normal drip rings.
Nice paddles. I like paddling my Merlin with a double blade, but I hate the drips. Drip rings don't seem to do much good. So, the that notch really works?
