I am planing a trip in mid-July and my wife likes a waterfall or some sort of focal point for our trip. Any suggestions? Any pics?

How much time do you have? How hard do you want her to work?

Thanks, Mooseplums. Going there this September for the first time. Hope there's still water going over it then.

There is an interesting waterfall parallel to the portage from Brule Lake to Vernon Lake. It is not as aesthetic as some. The intriguing thing is that you climb uphill going from Brule to Vernon, on about the first third of the way. How does the water travel uphill. Upon investigation, you find that the stream travels underground and comes shooting out on the downhill side and riffles into Vernon Lake. We have taken some large Northern in the mouth of that stream. My dad took 8mm movies of this phenomenum, back in the late 1950's. I have the films, but not photos.

Thanks for posting that. We are thinking of visiting this one ourselves. Check out the route suggestions by East Bearskin Outfitters.

Duncan into Rose Lake...It has the stairway portage but its worth it. Good fishing on Rose, many NICE campsights.
