Thought some of you winter enthusiasts might be interested in this. "The Beaten Path have developed some of the best cross-country trails in Ontario. North of Quetico Park boundary, and through-out the Dawson campgrounds . . ." LINK If their groomed trails don't interest you, you could camp at Dawson (French Lake) and experience as they say, "true wilderness skiing over the lakes and portages of Quetico Park." --Goose
Soloing is sweet, but a good partner is "priceless."
Chris Stromberg who is a long time Quetico Ranger whom many of you may have met in the back country is big on Cross Country skiing does a lot with that group and also promotes wilderness ski travel in the winter. He also has a annual event where people get together and ski across much of Pickeral and I believe end up at French lake.
