I saw 10 eagles together today. I took some pictures, none of which are any good. I was just too far away for the lens that I had with me. The most I could get in one frame was 7 or 8.

I thought they might be competing for food, but there doesn't appear to be any food when I zoom the photos with the computer. Anyone have thoughts on what might have been happening?

I have seen groups like this along the Mississippi River near Lake City, and Wabasha, MN.
They congregate in large groups and are often seen standing standing on the ice near open water.

I don't think it's a courting display.......MIGRATION BUDDIES?

I wondered about migration. They didn't seem all that friendly with each other but maybe that is just the way eagles behave.

Here is one I got closer to. I wanted to get some pictures of it flying out of the tree so I scared it away but my camera timed out just at that moment :(

Could be a fish or something frozen in the ice.
