I really enjoyed your report. It's obvious you did too. I'm pretty sure it won't be 27 years before the next one.

Thanks Boonie:

I will take that as a great compliment coming from you. You have a lot more experience in canoe country than I can ever hope to garner. I really enjoy your writing style and have read almost all of your trip reports.

My friend Drew (my buddy from college, and part of the trip in 1986) and I are heading out for a week long adventure beginning next Saturday. Isaac was originally suppose to join us along with his older brother, but he (Isaac) tore his knee up something fierce in a skiing accident in March. He still has his brace and the doctor won't clear him to go until late August or early September.

He is begging me to take him in September, so we will see what can be arranged for a few short days.

It means a lot to me that you were the first person to respond to my very first attempt at writing a trip report.

Happy paddling!!!

Thank you, callofthewild. I don't know how many people read them. There are some really well-written and entertaining reports around if you search through them.

I was about your age when I took my first trip to the BW, so I'm sure you'll catch up.

If you've read two of my trip reports, you've read them all unfortunately. I wish I had done so from the beginning. You'll be glad you wrote it now since memories and details fade with the years. I hope you took lots of pictures on your trip, especially of your son. You will treasure both in the years to come.

I'm glad you enjoyed my trip reports and hope they were useful in planning your return.

I hope you get a trip with Isaac later in the year. I'll be going in mid-Sept and will be on the North Shore between Duluth and Sawbill on Sept. 19th if that coincides with your later plans.

I'll look forward to your next trip report...and maybe some pictures ;).

My story is similar... Canoeing was my life in my twenties... Started a family and that life took over. My business eventually consumed me for years. Then my body just couldn't do it no more. A friend talked me into a canoe trip, and although his style isn't one I'd embrace I was hooked again and did several years of serious tripping which coincided with the life of my dog Bernice who with me enjoyed many nights in the BW and WCPP. Health and work has slowed me from going, but the bug is pretty strong and I'm planning on a good 2015. I hope you can make the time to enjoy this passion for years to come. You sound like a great person to have out there paddling. Look forward to more great reports from you. People like me should be banned from writing and taking pictures. :) Thank you.

Great trip report. Thank you. I can't imagine 27 years. My brother and I have missed the last three years and were determined to make this year work. 29 days until our put in.

Great report. I was just in that area and I saw Mr. Bullwinkle on the south end of Rib near the portage(July 15)...and you are correct...he is HUGE!

I enjoyed your report, especially as I have been to most of that area and I do love it there. But I kept wishing that there were some photos!

Also, I was wondering how old your son is?

Sounds like you had a great trip. Good report.

Thank you Spartan 2.

I have a lot of pictures in my old Blackberry and just need to download the stuff and post it. Maybe this weekend.

Isaac was 15 at the time of this trip.

Thanks for all the trip reports you have provided in the past. I have read at least five or six of them and I think you have many more.

I have only been back from the BWCA (next trip report coming) for less than a week and I miss it already. I wish I could live there.

That was a pleasure to read. Things change as we age, but the love is still there...we just adapt, right?!

Thank you for sharing. I wish I had known of the BWCA in 1984...
I didn't make it until 2009... we are planning our sixth trip.

Again, Thanks for the report, looks like you enjoyed it.
