Karl, how do you get the damascus effect? Do you do this or does the steel come this way. It is very nice looking. Also, how does damascus steel compare to other good carbon steels such as 01? My hunch is that it is harder. What is the story?

As well, Damascus steel is made from two other steels of individually good quality. Each one capable of standing on its own.
