I'm thinking of doing Hog Creek with our 5 year old for her first trip. my questions is this.....What is the current like going back up Hog Creek on your way back to the entry point?
Just curious as I begin to formulate this trip.
Thanks!

lyontyl,
Sounds like you are looking for more information on Hog Creek and Perent Lake.
This episode of the tumblehome podcast includes a trip report. I think they did this trip in 2019.
Another thing you can do to research entry point is go to this page and input the entry point number, 36 in this case, to the filter field.
Also this book mentions entering Hog Creek and going down the Perent River. I haven't seen this route mentioned anywhere else. (not that I am spending my winter researching routes or anything...)

I did what's described as the Long Rivers Route Rout 36-2 in the Eastern Region book. Except I started and ended at Lake One making it a loop. Great trip just under 100 miles

Nice! How long was that trip? 8 days?

5 days. I was in my 30s but also had a78lb Old Town Discovery. 51 portages but none too long. Full disclosure. We hitched a ride between Kawishiwi Lake and Hog Creek to avoid the 3 mile walk down the forest service road. I'm thinking about redoing the trip solo ( 30 year anniversary) But this time stashing a bike at Kawishiwi and starting at Hog Creek and a 33lb canoe

Current not an issue even with kids. It is a slow long winding creek. Boredom and banging against the brush on the tight turns will be frustrating for kids.
There are a couple beaver dams which may be a little tricky for the kids but not much. Watch Perent for submerged rocks.
