Maureen: "We always stay at Tuscarora in one of their bunkhouses. They have brand new bathrooms/showers, a delicious French toast breakfast, and are just a wonderful resource. Give Andy and Ada a call!"
Tuscarora seems a little further down the trail, but I do follow them on FB & Insta extensively and Andy & Ada seem like THE BEST!!! I've never stayed with them but can't wait to, so, if you don't mind driving down the trail a bit further, I'd say go for it.
I can also attest that the current owners of Rockwood Lodge are amazing as well. We didn't stay there, but did put in for the Lizz/Swamp a few years ago, and they helped us load our canoe, told us exactly how to get to the EP, and then greeted us and helped us unload upon our return. They are class act.
We recently stayed at East Bearskin Lake Camper Cabin. While the check-in process at Bearskin Lodge was amazing, the cabin itself was creaky as heck and put us for a fitful night of sleeping, not to mention the noise from fellow campers at a regular "campground".
