FYI, I recently did some bushwhacking by Boze lake and intended to use my Google Maps off-line on my iPhone as GPS.  It worked well several other times but when I needed it most there was some glitch with the GPS function that it couldn’t find my location.  Of course there was no service where I was so impossible to search the web to find a solution to re-enable the GPS functionality until I got out.  While in the bush I tried toggling the airplane mode off and on and also restart my phone, both to no avail.  I had to resort to map, compass and dead reckoning - difficult while deep in spruce swamp!  I don’t recall the exact solution I found once I got out and had service to Google it ( it involved toggling off and on a switch in location services or Google maps) but I recommend you search for the solution and make sure GPS on your phone is working before you push off and get in such a predicament yourself.

Jaywalker	06/21/2021 08:44AM I’m not so good with these things, but I do recall a past thread that may be helpful to you. Have a look at Kelso’s work and see if anything there helps you. Custom BWCA Maps
x2jmorris	06/21/2021 08:17AM Not sure about exporting this or any existing google maps (though that would be cool). I sometimes use the app Navionics (cost 10 dollars) and you can save it offline and it positions your gps where you are on it plus gives depths. An option if you don't find what you are looking for.
