Justin's peanut butter (and many other ___butter options) comes in pouches as well and is amazing. You can get boxes of pouches.

Coghlan's (I know, but hear me out) has at least one decent product in the form of reusable squeeze tubes that can be filled with anything you can imagine you might want to squeeze out of a tube. Super useful.

So true. We're still using some old Gerry reusable ones from the Very early 80's. Back when they made real gear.

Thanks, Im surprised it took this long to do this. I’ve been putting it in those squeeze tubes for years. I will be buying these.

I prefer a competitor's peanut butter. Any others not listed so far package this way?

I'm not familiar with Coghlan's. Why did you phrase your statement the way you did?

Coghlan's has a well-earned reputation for making cheap crap and is the butt of many jokes among many campers I know. The squeeze tubes are a worthy little tool, though. The little pouches of PB are handy, but all the unnecessary garbage of all the little pouches adds up and rubs me the wrong way when one could just fill a tube from a jar at home.

Me, too. Took packets of Justin's nut butters (peanut, almond, cashew, with and without maple or honey added--all yummy!) for the last few canoe trips, probably 2008 through 2013. Now that we just stay in a cabin we can take them there, too. When Packit Gourmet came out with packets of jelly, too, we were all set! No more stuffing things in the tubes. I don't miss the tubes, but I was surely glad to have them back in the day.

But mainly I am glad to see a post from Suncatcher again!! We have missed you!

Ah yes! Now I remember Coghlan's. Thanks.

I'm with you, give me one tube of PB rather than a bunch of pouches. I hate trying to keep track of the waste and I always seem to get PB on other things when I use pouches or ziploc bags.

Haha, yep loved to hate the Coglan tubes... thank goodness I never filled one with honey. Haha! There are Coglan items I did like. But packaging has come a long ways and it would be interesting to see where it goes from here.

With our family of 5 we just bring a small plastic jar of peanut butter.

Same for me. Once PB came packed in plastic jars I just select the right size for the trip.

Not exactly new. The Army was putting these in MRE's 35 years ago when I went in.

Me, too! They are a bit scuffed up, but still do the job!

My son and I used this new packaging this September during a BWCA trip. The weather was a little cool. The long cylinder shape of the product coming out of the packaging wasn't the most appetizing in appearance. But, tasted great and was very convenient! :)

Since the "jars" are plastic I find it simple to just take it. I usually put a wood spoon - like from a dixie cup or half a tongue depressor-in the jar.
