No one is terribly close yet. See if this helps. Facing E/NE (probably mainly east) from campsite.

One person is closer.

These two photo are obviously taken from the same place at different times, looking NE.

Sandman 2009 has it with Gaskin! You are up for #89.

Since I went to the trouble to scan photos from our "Rainbow Trip" in 2001, I will add a couple more. We loved the campsite on Gaskin, stayed over an extra day. Had a resident beaver that entertained us, and the sunrise on the last morning behind the small island was so beautiful.

If someone would like to jump in for me that would be great. Won't be near my pictures until late tonight.

I would imagine after playing this game through 88 lakes, they could wait until you are ready to post one. :-)

What campsite did you have on Gaskin?
That sunrise picture is really cool, great shot!

Thank you for the compliment, Lightfoot. I admire your photos, so it is a real pleasure to have you comment on one of mine.

In looking at the map, we have decided it was #632. The first one to the west of the portage from Winchell.

We had a lovely time there. The sunrise photo is one of my favorites; I also have a view that includes more of the island. Got my best beaver photos there, and the rainbows were nice. One in the sky and one on the lake. As we were leaving the campsite we saw a rainbow in the pine pollen on the lake, like a rainbow in the water instead of the sky. Didn't have a digital camera back then, so these are scanned from prints.

I remember our time at that campsite very fondly. Our tent site was right close to the water, so we could hear the fish jumping. And the beaver was there many times. It was building a structure right down on the shore below where we had pitched our tent. Came back over and over. Hard to believe it was 20 years ago.
