Looking for pillow recommendations, i have one of the tiny blow up ones that takes up no space but it slides all around and isn't the most comfortable. Any recommendations for a softer pillow that takes up very little room in the bag?

I use an Arrowhead Equipment Cub . I an a hammock camper and this small pillow is just enough.

If you are sleeping on the ground, you might consider the Bear . The shock cord is intended to keep it from getting lost in a hammock but, could be utilized to keep the pillow fixed in place for ground dwelling as well.

I add a pillow case to my bag and put that around the stuff sack with my clothes. I know that doesn't work for everyone but the pillowcase makes it feel more like home for me :)

I have a sleeping bag with a hood. I don't need the hood for summer camping, but I tuck my inflatable pillow into it so it stays put through the night.

I've come to like my Exped inflatable Air Pillow M. Has a kind of nap on it to reduce slipping - not perfect - and I let a lot of air out when I lay down. (Can't help but fully inflate with their schnozzel.)

Hadn't looked at their products in a while but the DOWN PILLOW M looks good.

If you know someone who sews, a regular pillow can be cut down to travel size. That is what I use. Beats any store bought inflatable.

I like the MyPillow Roll and goanywhere pillow. Rolls up small and tucks into its own pillowcase.

I agree with the OP about an air filled pillow not being as comfortable. It took several attempts for me to find that wouldn't slide out from under my head. I am currently using and happy with the Nemo Fillo. I found it also helped to change the amount of air in the pillow. For me, about 2/3's full makes for a pillow that sits still better.

We just use My Pillow travel size pillows. They can roll up and stuff down pretty good in the stuff sack.

I use an air pillow partially inflated with a resized cotton pillowcase. (glue the hem if you can't sew) It doesn't slip around nearly as much. I turn a lot during sleep.

A pillow can make or break my night no matter where I am at. The best pillow that I have ever found for ME that I use at home and while out in a tent is made by Coop Home Goods. They make regular bed pillows and I just found out and purchased a camping/travel pillow of the same. It's an awesome pillow. Pack slightly larger than your typical camping pillow but I feel it is well worth it.

Take your pillow from home. If you had a better pillow than what is on your bed, you would have already starting using that at home. Bag it to keep it dry.

I love my Exped Mega Pillow. Almost had to fight off my family last year since the ones the outfitter gave us weren’t even close to as nice or as comfortable! Picked up 3 more this year for the rest of the family.

It’s a blow up style huge when blown up and comfortable but deflates nicely and is relatively small once deflated.

I also use a Thermarest pillow. If they leave them out for a day they really expand. It's too big for me so I cut a hole in the seam, took some stuffing out and then sewed it back up. Packs up to a size a little bigger than a nalgene.

I use my Airplane travel memory foam neck pillow. It works great! I hold it together with its own Velcro strap such that it cradles my head as I lay on it. I also have many air pillows that I dislike because I can hear my heart beats all night long.

I have to agree, this is one of the best pillows I have brought on a trip. And, it compresses down very small. If you don't mind packing a big bigger pillow, I would recommend the Therm-a-Rest Compressible Pillow.
