I just had this idea while watching a download take place on one of my pcs -
What does everyone have on their desk top for a photo?
Are yours canoe related?
(It might also make a good "Topic of the Month")
It might give us all something to look at and think warm thoughts.
This is mine - I think this was on Caribou:

Taken in September 2021 on my month solo trip west. This is from my tent overlooking Death Canyon from the Death Canyon Shelf in Grand Teton National Park.

Sedges, what kind of bird is that? Looks similar to a Cedar Waxwing but not quite the same. One of my favorite birds too and I have some nice shots I have used for my desktop off and on. "
That is a Cedar Waxwing. We get some big flocks wintering in north GA. They are also very rare residents.

I almost thought - that was one of my pics. I've got a few that are very similiar. Wonder what model of Bell they're paddling in that photo.

Wow! In looking at your photo, I see what you mean! It is a Bell Northwind, green (Spartan green) on the outside. We bought it in 1998, and I believe this photo was 2006. The wood doesn't look nearly this good anymore, as we have neglected proper care, and perhaps this is one reason I love this photo so much. Brings back memories of better, easier times.
I have also used the photo below as a desktop photo at another time.

This is now. I have been working on genealogy since I retired. This is my mom's grandmother.
I have had this one on my desktop before. It's one of my favorites.
I have also used the 2019 Photo Contest winner in the past. Here is link to that thread:

Honestly, I've downloaded DOZENS of photos from the various photo contests, have them all saved in the same folder, and set my computer to use those photos as my background/wallpaper. I also set it so that it changes the photo about every 10 minutes.

"
Great memories of this campsite on Malberg. Back in the late '90's we had a bear come into our camp and made off with the food pack. Only ate all the sweets but left everything else.
Also had a cow moose and calf come through this camp on the same trip.

One of my favorite places in the world. Sometimes I'd get paid to camp on the shelf.

My favorite campsite on Gaskin from 2016. It's my desktop image on my work computer and on my iPhone. "
I know this campsite! Nice photo. I lost my crawlers there one year after a heavy rain. Did you happen to find them?
Mike
I did indeed rock down to Electric Avenue, but I did not take it higher. I regret that.

One of our all-time favorite places but no crawlers on the site. We were slated for a return visit this past August but then forest fires shut things down.

Must have been the sun angle? Looks cool upside down too. I saw my 11 year old son wading out to the rock. He climbed up and just sat there for a few minutes...just soaking up the moment. I know he's ready for a father/son trip now.

LOL, I didn't notice that right away! Thanks for pointing it out.

Hiking that 5 miles of shelf has been hands down in the top 3 of all backpacking I have done. Any glance of the scenery was just a wallop of a view, no matter what direction. I would stop and look for a second, soaking it all in, and then just start laughing to myself at the amount of beauty in front of me. It was absurd.
Let me know if you need an assistant the next time you head out to get paid.

I'm going to switch to this: me and the Granite River, circa approximately 1984.

Is that Little Rock Falls?"
I believe so. Or the Blueberry Portage. Sorry, but I can't remember exactly. I've done the Granite River route at least 15 times, so one would assume I'd remember... but I'm getting old.
