Winter can get long as I sit around waiting/planning for the weather to change so I can head up to the BWCA. I have become a big fan of a number of the Outdoor YouTube channels as I'm waiting for summer to come. Especially the ones that involve canoeing, fishing, and camping. I have also learned a lot from a number of these channels that I've been able to apply to my BWCA adventures. I listed my favorite channels below. I would highly recommend checking these out as you impatiently await your next BWCA trip.

What's your favorite channel? Who am I missing on this list? Any good channels that are BWCA specific?

Lost Lakes
Xander & Maxim Budnick
Jim, Ted, & Tori Baird (all 3 have great channels. Jim also has a new podcast)
My Book of Memories (BWCA specific, huge fish, PMA)
Jodi Middendorf (BWCA specific)
Mav
Northern Scavenger (great trips but has slowed down a bit the past 2 years)
Justin Barbour (on a 1 year+ trip. Not as many posts recently but old stuff's great)
Outdoor Boys
Joe Robinet
Nagualero (He pass away 2 years ago unfortunately. But has a lot of great videos still posted)

Vibe with Mike, Duluth ship watching.
Jodi Middendorf, very informative and entertaining.
Northern Tactics, fishing, hunting, up north gunflint trail and other areas.
Technically Rugged, bwca and other locations.
Cook county MN webcams (not you tube).

I follow other sites not outdoor related such as cook and baking sites.
Paul Folger, Kevin Lee Jacobs, twin cities live, the Jason show.

Here are some with quality videos:

Canoe The North
The Dutch Explorer
Tumblehome
Explore The Backcountry

Some of these people have done combined trips with some of those on your list.

BWCAwild is my absolute favorite channel. Both the website and YouTube channel are an A+ for research, info, and entertainment. I’ve watched the portages for hours. Very meditative!

I like most of the ones already mentioned, but I would add MNmostly. Bryan Johnson makes some really cool videos. Mostly canoeing, but some hiking too.

Would like to add "Two Packs and a Pup." Young couple and their golden Emma tripping in the Canadian parks. Very respectful of the environment, good video quality and shows the entire canoe camping experience.
Justin Barbour is my all- time favorite, his long solo expeditions are epic.

FarWater is a good one. I met him at Piragis and then ran into him at Semers Beach Park later in the day with my son. Nice guy, and I enjoyed his content.

Shug Emery is great. His BWCA hiking trip videos are my favorite.
His content really makes you feel like you’re on the trip with him, while still providing technical info you can use in the future.

I've chatted with MNmostly in emails over the years. Love his channel and wish there was more content from him. He used to be a member here but something happened to drive him away. No clue what that was. He does have a thread somewhere on here building his solo cedar stripper but I wouldn't know where to find it anymore.

I have many. Main topics range from camping, cooking, and music.

For the classic rock music lovers - you should check out Leonid & Friends!

L&F's is a band from Russia. They are (in my and the opinion of thousands of fans)
the worlds premier Chicago tribute band.
Not only do they absolutely nail Chicago material but now they have expanded to include other classic rock bands with horn sections.

They have toured the United States several times now and just finished their spring/summer one. But, they will be back for their fall tour! My wife and I will see them for the fourth time in Rochester, Minnesota on October 5th. The will also be at The Medina Entertainment Center on the 4th but I hate that place.

I've watched some FarWater and found it fun. Then heard his voice in Piragis a few rows over and knew it was him.

Enjoy

Common Man Camps??? I too love watching YouTube videos in the winter when I can’t wait to go. I started making videos my self. I’m new to making videos but it’s fun to do when I’m solo.

I have been watching Joe Robinet stuff for a long time.
He almost died a few weeks ago in a motorbike crash.
He was in a coma for some time but seems to be recovering now.

Take a look at the 'Hermit's Outdoor Adventures' channel on YouTube. She does the absolute best job at shooting and editing together her trips. Keep in mind that she is shooting these things by herself on solo trips. She has to get in the canoe and paddle away and then come back and grab the camera and then edit it all together when she gets back. Super high level of production and I appreciate her channel a lot.

Appreciate everyone’s recs.

I really like NFB (Film Board Canada). For instance check out “Ceasar’s Canoe” which is an amazing 60 min video of a Cree birch bark builder. They have tons of First Nations/Native American docs that help shine some light on my ignorance.

Lastly in the “no talking/commentary” category: I love “Betram Bushcraft” - incredible production value though it’s worth noting it’s a lot of stuff you cannot do in the BWCA.

GRS River Rider. As a soloist these come the closest to what my trips feel like. Excellent photography and music. He is from Saskatchewan. So peaceful and relaxing, feels like you are there.
