Looks like it shaping up to be a bumper crop of blueberries this year. Most areas I've checked are probably a week or so away from prime but, I was able to get a "taste".

We saw lots of not-ripe berries in northern Quetico last week. Agree that it looks like a good crop!

Hi All,

Any updates from recent trips? I head up Friday on the GF side and hoping for some blueberries.

Thanks :)

I was out (just south of BWCA) yesterday and got about half an ice cream pail. There are definitely enough ripe berries to make picking worthwhile but, there are still so many green berries - if it would quit clouding up & raining and we actually get a few days of uninterrupted sunshine....

I was out on Sunday and I did notice some ripe blueberries, but there were still many that were green. I also found some delicious strawberries!

Great! Thank you so much! I will report back after we come home next week- hopefully with bellies full of berries.

Update: plentiful berries at the end of the Gunflint trail! Had plenty to eat and make some delicious pancakes with! Happy picking :)

I was on Duncan with my daughter this week and was hoping to find some blueberries but got skunked. I don't know much about them, are there any tips as to where to look for them?

All we found were bluebeads, which were plentiful. Good thing I looked up what they look like at least.

I’ve been out and about in several areas and haven’t really found too many berries. Many are small and not plentiful.

Just got back from a trip off the echo trail and had plenty of success picking. Still a few not quite ready and they’re on the small side, but enough to fill our cups for a great breakfast.

Recently burned areas are prime spots. They typically grow in rocky, dry areas, and love the sun. Look down for little bushes- they are small!

From Snowbank up through Ensign, Knife, Kekekabic, Ima we only found one area that had any berries....green, ripe, or otherwise.
