BWCAW Looking Southeast. The it rained for 48 hours. The water came up 4 inches in the lake. When we left there was water running everywhere. It wasn't mud, it was streams on the portages.
The clouds were at tree tops coming over the hills to the south east. It was a remarkable 2 days. Gravel roads were washed out. We were lucky to be able to get back to the hard top, only to discover that it too had suffered severe damage.

Catching a cold lunch between rain bands and thunder storms. This lake is at the east end of the passable portion of the river and the aforementioned lake is at the western terminus.
We sat and watched otters feeding in the pool of the river at the bottom of the falls as you approach this lake from the west. The noise of the falls and the rain in the water masked our approach.
