Alrighty, pic #2 is looking East from just offshore the portage where I entered the lake.

Taken about noon, I was getting a bit peckish so I paddled out into the lake (where pic #1 was taken) and admired my surroundings while enjoying a sandwich I prepped at camp earlier.

PortageRunner has many scared that it's another little picture of a big lake! Love it.

So after finishing my mid-lake sandwich, I continued paddling across the lake, passed by the only campsite on the lake, and landed at my next portage, glad to have fueled up for the portaging fun ahead as I made my way back to camp.

Pic #3 here is looking back to the west toward the portage where I entered the lake.

Bingo!

This was a day trip loop from S. Temperance thru N. Temperance, Cherokee, Town, Vesper, Gasket, Cam, and Brule. So there were some very close guesses early on here.

Managed the boulder-field Vesper-Gasket portage with ankles intact and really enjoyed the scenery, elevation, rock slides thru the mechanic chain. Beautiful area.

You’re up, Tony!

I've only been on town one time. I paddled from Bule through Cam and into Town and by the time I got to town I was so shot I couldn't go any farther. I don't care if I ever go that way again. It was My second solo trip many years ago.

I think 2011 I had the same experience. Got to Town wet, tired and that night I tried a gorp I made with that hard corn stuff in it. I broke a moler tooth biting one and decided not to go as far as planned in case something more developed. A rare shortened trip for me… eleven days instead of eighteen. I liked the campsite ok.
