What kind of glue would be good for paddle making that would not allow "Joint Slip". I built a paddle a year ago and after some use the joints are slightly offset. You can just feel a small amount of mismatch.
Great question! For my 'CanYak' paddle I used plain old outdoor wood glue but I put a coat of fiberglass and epoxy on the blades afterwards so there would be no water infiltration.
I've used regular titebond III waterproof wood glue. Once it's sealed with varnish and/or glass and epoxy you should be set. I've used those paddles on many trips and never had an issue.
