I have also floated that section of the Brule. It is a fun and relaxing few hours. We even heard one of the summer residents practicing Amazing Grace on bagpipes as we drifted by.

I've wanted to do this. How long is the stretch you paddle? Nice report and great to get into the boat early.

Too funny, we had the same experience a couple years ago too. Cool that you could hear it, but couldn't see who was doing it. Sound just coming out of the woods.

The stretch we do is from Stone's Bridge to Winneboujou, which is about 12 miles. Depending on the height of the water, it's taken us anywhere from 3.5 to 5 hours to do.

Thanks for posting this. One of my favorite stretches of river. Nothing like the Brule in Spring!
