Yes, mine has a name. It simply "The Joint."
Not what you are thinking.
I actually bought it together with my brother and our very close friend. Hence, the three of us jointly own The Joint.

That's funny. I had a friend that had a pet rabbit that he named "pie"

My buddies stripper, named after his wife, LaRee.
Someone on this forum stated that if he had a stripper he wouldn't name it after his wife.
I've never named my canoes but I might.

La Bamba is my solo canoe.
Gerth is one of my tandems.
Fang is my other tandem.

I have another old, black Coleman canoe named Reverend LeRoy after a Flip Wilson character.

I had a solo named See-More. The one I have now is named Argosy. Pretty unoriginal. It's a Wenona Argosy.

My Mad River Traveler is called, "The Mad Bunny". My Savage River, Deep Creek Solo Carbon, is called "The Dark Lady" but they both have the same problem, they are really hard of hearing, no matter how loud, sweet, or demanding you call them they will not follow you over the portages, they demand to be carried. That's the main proble we all have. When canoes were made the maker forgot to include ears, legs and feet :-(

I have a cedar strip canoe also. Maybe I should stop assuming it is a "her" and call it Woody.

02/24/2017 06:21PM
Completely unimaginative: We call ours Green, Blue, and White.

My Magic is named Burnice, she is named after the gentleman I purchased her from. I'd like to tell Burney that I am taking her back to Pickerel Lake this June, covering some of the same water he highlighted on the maps that came with the boat.

My first solo stripper was named Murphy after the Murphy's portage along the North Kawishiwi. Sold that one and made another, her name is Charmaine named after the toughest woman I've ever known. She passed away due to cancer, but only after beating it 3 times.

You southern boys have always been able to spin some yarns.
How long did they believe it?
