Entry Point 51 - Missing Link Lake

Missing Link Lake entry point allows overnight paddle only. This entry point is supported by Gunflint Ranger Station near the city of Grand Marais, MN. The distance from ranger station to entry point is 45 miles. Access is a canoe landing at Round Lake with a 142-rod portage to Missing Link Lake. This area was affected by blowdown in 1999.

Thanks for the follow-up trip report - I always wonder how 1st solos go. I'd agree that they are quite the learning experience. Second ones go smoother after some experience and changes, third ones even easier. If it's something you think you might try again, I'll suggest (again) joining the private group forum for solo trippers. You'll find a lot of information there to help make it easier and better.
