I cannot imagine doing something like this! Ever. Even when I was young and much stronger. Kudos to you for making this hike at any time of year, but in October--Wow!
Loved your report. While we have been on most of these lakes, the whole perspective is so much different in the hiker's eye. Loved the photos.
Thanks for sharing your adventure with us.

What an incredible, inspiring adventure!
Having had the privilege to hear firsthand how much planning, training etc., you put into this hike. It is so very heartwarming to see the labors of your fervent passion being brought to successful fruition. I got the sense that God was providing just enough motivating illumination to keep you pushing onwards through some of the most harrowing episodes. Of course, Bre (and later Molly) seemed to be something of 'angelic' tripping partners as well?
Really enjoyed your storytelling and all the photos, especially seeing the joy on your faces at the end of each day.
You've undoubtedly earned a certain sense of pride.
So, with glass raised to the sky
I beckon one & all to raise a jubilant cry

For someone who is reading this in twenty-degree weather with the snow falling, this trip was a great read with nice pictures. I have been on these lakes at water level many times, but to see them from the hills was an eye opener, especially in October.

After hearing your story at the wingnite I decided to make some coffee and read the report. Quite an adventure, although, it made me a little jealous. The days where I could do something like that are behind me now. However, I have decided to finally do that northern most section of the SHT before the snow falls.
