Funny story behind this one. Pretty sure I was camped on Vera Lake. Two adult hares were chasing each other through the brush & disappeared into the thick of it. A short while later, one of the mature hares returned & I cracked a joke to it involving the stereotype of rabbit adult activities. The hare hops off. A moment later & this young hare pops out of the bushes haha! It was as if that day the universe & I were making jokes with each other.

Cow and calf moose take an evening swim to an island on Brule.
We saw a cow and 2 calves the night before in this same area the day before. Just as we were approaching this spot, I asked, “ I wonder where those moose are now?” 100 yards to our right, my son saw these two swimming. Such a magical experience!

This is a GREAT photo (!) - however - if this was in the BW it is most likely not a bullfrog. American bullfrogs in MN are mostly found in the SE corner of the state (with some other regions as people have tried to introduce them to other areas). Yours looks like a Green Frog - which is quite large. The bull frog is the only frog in MN larger than our green frog. [regarding John's photo]

Chessie - It was at Chatterton Lake in Quetico. I think I used my phone to ID it from another picture I took of it. I did get a phone ID on some green frogs and some good photos of them. Anyhow, sounds like you know your frogs and it is a green frog. Thanks for the help.

I don't really know frogs much, but I think confusing these two species happens quite a bit. I got to see a saucer sized bullfrog at a friend's place in Kansas last summer. Holy cow! It is a cool pic, great detail!
