Entry Point 70 - North Fowl Lake *

North Fowl Lake entry point allows overnight paddle only. This entry point is supported by Gunflint Ranger Station near the city of Grand Marais, MN. The distance from ranger station to entry point is 60 miles. Access from Little John Lake with a 78- and a 160-rod portage to get to North Fowl Lake. Border lake between U.S. & Canada. This area was affected by blowdown in 1999.

Great report. I've never done the Royal River before. I love that site on Moose, that's the one with the massive grove of cedar trees, right? I agree about the latrine, interesting spot. I heard running water when I was there a few years ago, so I marched back into the woods and found a cool little waterfall. It was gorgeous. Here's a video clip of it. Border Route Challenge Part 2
