Trip Introduction:
A good friend of mine and I planned a 7 to 9 day trip, we took 5 other adults and 2 kids. Five of us took fishing gear. Four of use had Canoe experience and Boundary Water trips under our belt.

Day 1 of 7

Sunday, June 23, 2013 Left Central WI at 2:00 am. Drove to Ely bought Fishing licenses and picked up permits. Went in a Fall Lake, we had a canoe seat break on the drive up so we fixed that before going into the water.(Made portaging this canoe very heavy the rest of the trip, fixed by screwing a big piece of wood under the seat) We had two great portages with a nice trail. We arrived at our fist camp (located on northern Pipestone lake)later named Tippy Canoe, made grilled cheese sandwiches with sausage and 5 lbs of potatoes. Three went fishing said they had great success but lost the stringer of fish. Must be true because they came back with four fish and no stringer. I helped one guy fish for the first time off of shore. I and another went to take a canoe to go fishing and tipped, I lost my bait box full of bait next to shore. We cooked up the fresh fish and enjoyed our first night. Except for me loosing my bait.

Day 2 of 7

Monday, June 24, 2013 I got up early got a big fire going than went snorkeling and found my bait box, others thought I was crazy going in the cool water. Breakfast pancakes and c raisins. Left camp and did two portages (through back bay)picked next camp site just west of Lincoln Island. Later called Big Fire. Lunch mac&cheese and sausage. Two went snorkeling and found a pistol and saw a big bass under water.  All fishers went fishing and all caught fish. Supper fish and potatoes. As we went to sleep you could hear the hum of mosquitoes.

Day 3 of 7

Tuesday, June 25, 2013 Woke to no wind and lots of mosquitoes. Oatmeal for breakfast. Mixed things up and had the inexperienced paddlers in the back of the canoes including the two kids. Fished along shore most of the morning. Picked a camp later called Cedar Tree, lunch fish tacos with rice. Few of use went exploring looked at a water fall and walked the portage to Manomin Lake. Alfredo for Supper. Close to camp we found a Cedar Tree that measured 14' 7" in circumference one foot from the ground. Tried taking pictures put got to dark.

Day 4 of 7

Wednesday, June 26, 2013 Pancakes for breakfast. Visited the Ranger Station and bought some patches. Picked next camp on Sucker lake later called Craw Daddy Turtle. As we set up camp you could see a big dark angry cloud headed our way, Lots of rain everyone got wet, two people with a motored boat stopped during the storm to wait it out at our camp, we visited until it let up. After the storm the Conservation Warden visited camp and check our permits. Made grilled cheese for lunch. Went fishing the new fisher man is getting good at fishing, he snagged a turtle and we had to pull it to shore to it unhooked, everyone caught and released fish. Popcorn snack after supper with a knots lesson for all.

Day 5 of 7

Thursday, June 27, 2013 Stayed at the same camp we fished and explored around Birch Lake than came back to camp.

Day 6 of 7
