It is time to start the August Photo Contest, as well as, Trip Report Contest.

Monthly Theme: Sunsets and Sunrises in Canoe Country

Show us those amazing sunset and sunrise photos from Canoe Country!

The winner receives their choice of a hat, shirt, or other options prizes available each month.

Trip Report Contest: Any trip report published in a month is in the running for winning the prize.

Photo Contest winners are automatically included in a run-off for the photo of the year and the year-end prize!

Remember 1 entry per person, please. This helps us vote accurately.

Rules:
- You must be signed in as a member with a valid email address in your profile to enter (or win).
- You can only enter one photo per monthly contest. You can enter the same photo if it did not win with it prior.
- Photos don't need to be taken in the month of the photo contest. You can enter any photo you have taken which matches the theme.
- You must be the photographer of the photo and have the right to post it.
- Photos are entered in the contest by making a reply posting to this message and using the "Add a photo to this message" link during composition. This will allow you to upload a photo from your computer to the contest or allow you to select a photo that you have already loaded into your photo gallery on this site. If you want to enter your photo in another way, please contact us.
- Please describe in the message the location of the photo.
- Judging will be done by the www.bwca.com staff and moderators.
- A member may win once per year.
- Photos must be posted to this thread by 11:59pm on August 31st. Photos must be in jpg (jpeg) or png format and uploaded to this site.

Knife Lake, right now, iPad mini. It’s a pretty one tonight & is aging like fine wine as the minutes tick by. Coulda woulda shoulda got the nice camera out earlier tonight. Oh well.

Great photo! I had a similar shot that I wanted printed out in a large format (24 x 48), but couldn't see spending the crazy amount of money on a typical print/mount. Found this product: website - https://bayphoto.com/wall-displays/xpozer/

Pretty inexpensive, with great results.... if you're into printing out your photos.

Senior Trip 2020 - 3 dads and their sons. The plan had been to go to Isle Royale but Covid stopped the ferry. This photo was taken the day after the "mid-latitude cyclone" blew through. We arrived at our island campsite just as the wind was picking up and spent the next day hunkered down. The following morning was calm with fog slowly drifting across the lake. I took this photo just as the sun started to peek through.

Canadian wildfires gave us an interesting sunrise on Horseshoe (big rock site) on 6/17/23. We were departing and I couldn't get down to the lake level easily to get a more symmetrical reflection without wading around to the front of the big rock. Also, of the 30 or so frames I took, no picture was without at least one mosquito in it.
