Kyle Johnson aka WhiteH2O passed away last Friday suddenly of a brain aneurism. His wife (Shannon) and son (Canyon) asked me to spread the word to the canoeing community.
Kyle was a long time member of this website and was very active several years ago with many of the original members. He was present at many of the original wingnight events along with his son.
I will miss him dearly. He was an part of the "original group solo" trip made up of BWCA.com members who met "on the internet". Along with Jan Johnson (aka kanoes) we paddled many miles together. A man chain trip and later WCPP.
Attached is a link to that first trip "of wind, waves and men" it was a dandy of trip and will never be forgotten.

Very sad news. Kyle welcomed me warmly at my first Wingnight at Willow River. I enjoyed talking to him and Canyon. He was passionate about the outdoors and edged tools. I think at the time for work he called on Tractor Supply Stores. He was great with people!
My condolences to family and friends.
Thanks for sharing, Kip.

:(
It was always great to have Kyle and Canyon at wingnights. Kyle was a vibrant person who lived life to the fullest. I don't know if I ever saw him without a smile on his face. Thoughts and prayers for his family.

So sorry to hear this. I met Kyle at the very 1st wingnight and also at the many wingnight campouts. Kyle and his son Canyon were always a joy to see. Loved his posts and his many photos once he moved out west. RIP and paddle on my friend. Condolences go out to his family.
