This loon was very entertaining but sadly it was injured. It spent all day and night swimming around us. He kept making this loud flapping motion that looked like he was wrestling with a big fish. After a photographed him a few times I realized his left foot was broken or hurt. It stuck upwards and you could visibly see it above his back. He swam fine and a person would never be able to tell if he didn't have those flap attacks. The poor thing slept in the bay right by our campsite all night. When we woke up he was still there floating. I still wonder what happened to him that day and if he's alright today.

Was that the second to last week of July? That cloud looks very familiar....

If I had a vote to cast, it would be for this sunset. Real photo journalism in fact.

Fish, for sport only, not for meat. Fish meat is practically a vegetable.

"Burning through the Fog" ~ During this Fall sunrise paddle on the North Kawishiwi River, the sky appeared to be on fire as the sun burned through the fog in BWCA.

Horseshoe Lake (EP 49).
First one up, first one out, and back in time with fish and made coffee for the boys. One amazing Morning.
