This folding compass with full-size sighting mirror floats if dropped in water. Sighting mirror lets you take cross bearings of your surroundings to plot exact position. Declination correction scale allows for quick adjustment of map bearings to field headings. Red/black orienting arrow and lines and red "N" at 360-degree mark allow for an easy needle match. Features inch and millimeter scales for measuring and a lanyard for easy carrying. 2-degree graduation lines are accurate and easy to read. Accurate from -40 degrees to +140 degrees Fahrenheit and up to 20,000 feet. Swedish steel needle with sapphired jewel bearing for smooth needle swing.

I have this compass and keep it in my vest for quick access while on the water. The sighting mirror helps draw bearings from surroundings without the map below it and the compass face and scale numbers are easy to read. I didn't realize that this compass would float until reading the description here. Good deal.
