Waterproof, breathable 2.5-layer REI Elements /nylon with microporous polyurethane coating is seam-sealed for complete protection. Drawcord waistband supplies a custom fit. Front pockets feature lightweight, water-resistant zippers with zipper guards. Articulated knee darts provide a comfortable fit, allowing a full range of motion. Lower legs have zipper openings for easy on/off; seam-sealed plackets with snap closures protect zippers. Includes stuff sack. Windproof to 60 mph.

I've had these for many years. I've used a spray-on water repellant every few years. The waist has elastic as well as the draw cord. They are plenty roomy. I've even used them in the winter as a wind pant. The ankle zips have proven to be useful in more than one occasion. They are reasonably breathable.
