this filter works great. it is a little bulky but the water is perfect. it screws right onto a nalgene or msr dromedary!

I have used other filters in the past and was talked into buying the First Need this year. I was very pleased with the performance of the pump after only one use. It is easy to use and pumps a lot of water before needing to back flush it. I would recommend this purifier to anyone who is looking for a new one.

This company has outstanding customer service. We broke the handle off our purifier 4 hours before we were going to leave for our bwca trip. We called the company and they sent us to the closet store that carries the filter and bought us a new one at that store. We had a brand new free purifier for our trip.

This pumps quickly despite the small pore size. It pumps on both the down- and up-strokes. I appreciate the fact that it is a purifier as well as a filter. Although the purifier ability may not be needed in the BWCA/Quetico, it will come in handy if traveling overseas or on polluted waters. I have not noticed any chemical taste. It comes with a small bag for filtering using gravity rather than pumping, but the bag is too small to be useful; use the pump.
