If your reason to have a stove is to boil water quickly this will do it. If you want to use white gas, or gasoline the stove resists any attempt to simmer.... an common recipe requirement for many meals! If you chose to use iso-butane canisters you can simmer with it.

In the end I'm not a great fan of this stove.
