For many years we've used a dry bag pack for our sleeping bags, sleeping pads, clothes, documents, etc. Our original dry bag pack was a Seal Line 115L; still in great shape after 20 or so years of use, but now that we've changed to insulated air sleeping pads, we no longer need the volume of the Seal Line. At 50 liters, the Big River easily holds a Crazy Creek chair, our two down 20 degree bags, our two sleeping pads, a documents/wallet/passports envelope, and two puffer jackets that also serve as pillows. I carry this pack as I'm portaging the canoe, so the smaller size and lighter weight are also benefits. The Seal Line weighed just over 4 pounds, while the Sea to Summit's weight is 1 pound 10 ounces. TZ
