Below is a link to a video I made as a tribute to our friend Kanoes (Jan.) Hope you don't mind that I borrowed pictures from some of you. The scenic and nature pictures are from Jan's trip reports.
Like me, Jan was a big fan of popular music. He and I would often trade tips on new artists. A few years back Jan turned me on to a talented singer/songwriter and pianist, Regina Spector. He liked her music, especially the song "How," which I used for the sound track. So don your headphones or plug into some speakers to appreciate the music. Jan will be upset if you don't :-)

Wow! Standing ovation on my part.
Joy is a great teacher, but so is dispair. Wonder is a great teacher, but so is confusion. Hope is a great teacher, but so is disillusionment. And life is a great teacher, but so is death. To deny yourself any of those in any aspect is not experiencing life totally.

Fantastic job Andy on all three videos. We all have special memories of Jan but the one I guess really hit me was the picture of Jan with his arms around Trix and Kendra that will always be with me. Thanks again. FRED
Grant me the senility to forget the people I never liked, the good fourtune to remember the ones do, and the eyesight to tell the differance.

Well done... still hard to believe.
Kanoes is the onlybreason I've ever heard of Regina Spector. Now I will always think of him when I hear her songs or her name.

That was very nice, great job and music. Still seems surreal to me that there will be no more postings under the name "Kanoes" again. What a loss to this board.
