Ed, so sorry to hear the news. You and your family have my deepest sympathies.

So sorry for you and your Families loss. Prayers are with you. Your going to go thru some hard times now. Just remember the great life you had with her. Also the friends you have out there. Don't be afraid to reach out to them when needed.
Take care Stumpy.

So sorry to hear. It reminds us all to value the time we have with the people we love. It's often too short. May memories of the good times you had together remain with you always.

So sorry Stumpy... I can’t imagine there are words a person can say that would bring any comfort. But just know there are plenty of fellow paddlers that will have you in our prayers and such. Your wife was a lucky gal to have such a caring husband. Hang in there...

That brought me to tears just looking at the picture. Places like the BWCA are special because we get to share them with our loved ones. What an incredible life you two must have made together. My thoughts and prayers to you and your family.

I've not said anything to this point because I didn't know what to say. I think the group has said the best words. I feel real bad for you. I'm sorry for your loss.
Is there a funeral? Where?

Very sad for you. That is a great pic. I can only hope you can take some measure of consolation in that you two had such a great relationship for so many years. You are very lucky in that way. I’m sure you have many great memories. May peace come to your heart and soul in time. scat

Bless you all !
I cried again, as I read through all the comments.
You are all wonderful.
It's been two weeks now & my heart is absolutely broken.
I'm alone now and open to canoe with others, but mind you, I'm a stubborn old jerk.
But I'm open to the idea...... canvas & Aluminum ;)
special thanks to Magic Paddler & Howard Sprague, & (nctry ?) or who ever bought the flowers ?
Again.... thank you all.... you all made me cry.... and that's good

It was tumblehome, Stumpy. ( HERE ) He initiated sending flowers and some others contributed. I missed out on it as I didn't see the post in a timely manner.
Wish I lived closer to the BWCA. I'd paddle with ya. You may be stubborn and set in your ways but you are not a jerk. Not according to what I've read through the years on this forum. I also may have detected a veiled sense of humor, too. :)
Hope fortune sends you many paddling partners in years that lay ahead. God keep you blessed.

Stumpy,
May she RIP and condolences sent to you. Her memory will always be able to bring tears to your eyes - But - the memories will lead to smiles as it validates what you both had for each other. It was unique and special and that will help sustain you to smile again when she visits you in your thoughts.

Stumpy, sorry for your loss. She will live on in your memories. Stop by and we can raise a glass in her honor next time you get to Ely.
