Trip Introduction:
Months ago we decided to plan a trip where my brother-in-law and I could bring our kids and enjoy a wilderness experience. We decided to go into the boundary waters from entry point 30.

We rented canoes from Kawishiwi Lodge and found them to be wonderful to work with. Our plan was to canoe through Lake one into lake two and three where we would find a base camp. We would then take day trips from there. With our children being younger, this made the most sense as the portages would be minimal with heavy gear.

We ended up having to fight, wind and rain on our way in, but ultimately was able to find a campsite. We chose campsite 1490 it was protected and out of the wind.

We began our trip with some fishing in lake 4 and we're very successful, catching walleyes with nightcrawlers and bottom bouncers. When the wind subsided towards the end of our trip, we took a day trip to Horseshoe Lake and Brewis Lake. It was a perfect distance.

Firewood was very easy to find but difficult to keep dry in the rain. Overall, we had a very successful trip.
