The odd thing was that I never saw the toad actually moving down the snakes throat, but little by little more of it was gone. Of course it's not as cute as a moose calf, but still one more case of predator/prey relationship.

Enjoyed the report. I have camped on the high bluff on ahsub also. Wonderful view of the lake.
The pic of the snake is excellent but I just can't seem to want to see the rest. I always root for the underdog I guess.

Thanks for the link, those pictures are truly amazing. You at first think the snake has latched onto more than it can handle, yet their is the proof. Thanks for sharing, again.

OGM, I enjoyed your trip report. It was nice reading in itself, the moreso when I realized we were on Disappointment at the same time (covered on pages 4 & 5 of my trip report). You must have been the solo paddler I saw pass by on my layover day at the south island site.
