Enjoyed the read, skytintedwater, as I'm doing this lake in mid July 2010/5 day/solo.
I'm going a bit further to Isabella-->Comfort Lake so that should keep boredom/idleness at bay.
Likewise, not fond of sleeping on the ground. I'm going to break-in my Hennessey Scout hammock. I'm a side sleeper so was glad to read your notes on the Asym model (which I have also).

Now that I'm in my golden years I have found that moving every

other day works for me. But I will admit that I have been known

to stay 3 or 4 days in one spot

I too have found the when soloing I must travel. Sitting around a solo camp tends to bore me quickly. Nice pictures!

Yeah, my next solo will be on all small waters too. I usually get bored in the evening on solos.

You mentioned you slept in a hammock, was it covered in netting or just a regular hammock?

Tom,

I have a Hennessy Asym Hammock, which has mosquito netting on top and comes with a rain fly. You enter via a 1/3 length zelcro (sp?) in the bottom. It's about 2-3 pounds in total. If you are ok sleeping on your back or side, I think it's extremely more comfortable than sleeping on the ground. I first took it to the BWCA this year over Memorial Day and stayed warm with a sleeping pad under me and a 20 degree bag in 35 degree weather. It's fantastic.

I will be trying out my warbonnet blackbird hammock with the superfly tarp for the first time in the BW in a few weeks. I set it up in the backyard and plan to spend a night in it soon. It looks sweet I gotta say.
