Enjoyable trip report. Your photos were lovely. The "bear convention" story reminded me of campsite in FL where I was convinced every rustle was an alligator coming to eat me. Turned out it was just squirrels! Our imaginations can certainly run away with us. I enjoyed hearing about sites I have never visited.

Really enjoyed the report, thanks for taking the time to put it together. How incredibly lucky you were to not only see a squirrel but, also to get a great photo of that rare, elusive creature as well! ;-)

What a great trip for you and your friend. Loved the photos, happy you took the time to capture those shots.

From the beginning, reading your trip title, I thought you were doing the kek hiking trail and wondered the various places to access that trail from a canoe trip…. I must have been speed reading that title.

Such a beautiful area to travel, you guys never seemed pressed for time despite some windy days.
