Excellent! A good trip and report.

I'm surprised the outfitter wouldn't give you an extra paddle - at least just a cheap one. I always just fasten it to the thwarts where it stays the whole trip, so it never gets left behind. But since you had one extra it was not a big deal.

Thanks for posting this report! You made good use of the jello mold oven, didn't you? ;-) Nice work on your big "catch." Ha.

A general comment to all...do you ever read these reports and wish you could trip with these people? I think that after nearly every one...and I have many more to read. Thanks all for taking the time to share these trip reports...love 'em.

This was the best trip EVER since I wasn't a wimp this time!

Don't worry, when you are old and unable to move, we will still duff you out with us so you can use your jello mold ovens.

That sounds like fun. It sounds like you get into cooking in Bw, something I never really paid attention to, but am starting to. My 1st big portaging trip started at Bower Trout and ended at Ram Lake, necessitating a 2 mile hike back to my car at the BT EP. I had beer in my cooler which made the walk more urgent, but I have to admit I was a little ragged after that trip. If you ever get the chance treat yourself to the portage from Misquah lake to Little Trout Lake. It's juicy-an all time favorite. AHH the memories. Thanks for sharing.
