Entry Point 52 - Brant Lake

Brant Lake entry point allows overnight paddle only. This entry point is supported by Gunflint Ranger Station near the city of Grand Marais, MN. The distance from ranger station to entry point is 45 miles. Access is a canoe landing at Round Lake with an 85- and a 35-rod portage to Brant Lake. This area was affected by blowdown in 1999.

Nice write up BigTim! You left out that you had your hip replaced last year and this was your first trip back in with the new hardware. Mentally challenging since you didn’t yet trust your step. Thank goodness for the pack mule.


You showed it but didn’t mention anything - you also completed your first fishing outing in the front of the canoe. And caught a northern!

I used to be a pack mule. Roles have certainly reversed.
