Trip Introduction:
We entered at South Kawishiwi and paddled up the South Kawishiwi River and had a very relaxed pace! We stayed 3 nights at The Hilton (site 1131). Then continued to the North Kawishiwi and spent 2 nights in that area.
The weather was typical for that time of year. We had some rain and some sun.
Fishing was so-so but we did have a couple fish meals :-)
Water levels were low, so that caused some of the portages to be challenging with more rocks to climb over.
The campsite occupancy rate when we first went in was less than 25%. Then around Oct. 1, we saw people everywhere! We wondered if it was because reservations were no longer required after Oct. 1.
Anyway, enough rambling. Please watch the video and see our 7-day trip distilled down to 20 minutes.
