Excellent report!

We did a trip through a portion of that area last fall when it was very dry. It was neat to see your photos (with the high water) especially the Finger creek portage.

That looked like quite a nice buck and (regardless what the LNT police say) the camp stool was neat.

Regarding the survey marker. We also ran across one in campsite #735 on Pine lake (EP #68).

Anyways, thanks for taking the time to share your story & photos.

Enjoyed your trip report - it brought back a lot of memories, including some special ones. EP #16 and #14 were my first two entry points. One thing I really liked about the area was all the river and creek paddling - Moose River, Nina-Moose, Little Indian Sioux, Finger Creek, Pocket Creek, Gebe Creek. I didn't know about the Slim to Fat portage at the time and went up through Steep. It is a climb. It's still one my favorite areas and I hope to return there someday. I imagine the two boys had a great time. I wish someone had taken me on a trip like that when I was young.

Sweet trip!!! That campsite in Tiger Bay i I have lots of memories at-- and not a bad site at all. That was a long day from Beartrack to Tiger Bay. Thanks for posting.
