Thanks for the feedback everyone. You have encouraged me to move on to year two's trip report.

Great report and I wish my lady would have enjoyed our trip as much as you did. Can't wait for another report!

Great job and thank you. A trip report like this is balm for the soul at the end of winter. You really described the transformation that occurs from enduring to embracing and then reveling in the wondrous sights and experiences the BWCA has to offer. Thanks again and looking forward to the next reports.

Great job, fun to read. Your stream shot really turned out nice!

Thanks, I really enjoyed your report. I too thought the 140-rod portage between Mudro and Fourtown was beautiful. I was there on a lovely late September day and the foliage was gorgeous.

Very cool report! Thanks for sharing and I'm looking forward to the rest. My trips have been either with my wife or with one of my daughters for a daddy/daughter trip.

Great report - thanks for sharing. It brought back many memories of my first trip with my wife in '99. I look forward to reading more of your adventures.

Well written trip report! I actually got choked-up a bit(seriously!) as I read it, thinking about what an awesome experience you were having. I've been that route as well and Boot Lake is where I also had my only wolf encounter in the BWCA. We were not lucky enough to see them but did hear them howling to each other for about an hour. Congrats on a great adventure!

Wonderful trip report, PixiePaddler. I especially loved your photo at the end. Said a lot to me about your attitude: Great smile despite a headnet and TP in hand.

I remember that deer! We were at same site mid June that year.
