BB, what camera & lens combination(s) do you use? Do you also use a tripod? Very fine photos, indeed.

thanks cowdoc,

the canoe is a Freedom 15/3 solo by Bear Mountain Boat Shop.
i didn't get it fininshed in time for this trip, so i ended up taking it with-out the decks or graphite bottom. only two coats of varnish, the last one drying on the way up :)

here are some pics of the finished canoe on my 2009 trip.

thanks koda,
the majority of the pictures were taken with a nikon D200 and 80-400mm vibration reduction lens. this was one of only a hand-full times i didn't bring my tripod along. nearly all the photos were taken while sitting in the canoe.

I'm impressed by the clarity of the long zoom shots. If I weren't so protective of my Canon 40D (essentially the same as your Nikon) I'd take shots from the boat, too. Maybe I need to loosen up a bit....

Great report and images. My very first trip to the BWCA was that area and I spent several nights at the beach site on Frost. Great site and we also had great luck fishing by the large boulder. Caught my first and only trout there.
