Very nice trip report. Thank you for sharing that with us. One question about the camp chairs you had. I normally don't bring one for space but after the trip we took early this year I am convinced I need one. I have looked at a couple different ones and I like the ones that pack small. Those look really sturdy but I can't figure out how you fold them up to get into a pack. What kind of chair do you use and how does it pack down? Thank you!

Looking at the pictures they appear to be essentially low slung beach chairs that fold flat. So, you'd have to either hand carry them or maybe they fit into a #4 pack.

Glad you had a great trip!

Great report, thanks! I'm thinking of doing that loop next year. Unfortunately our dogs like to roll in scat too.....

This is the other half of the paddelingRuth team, the chairs are Cabela's turkey hunter chairs. They are one of our luxury items, but not light, we carry them strapped to the sides of the pack for our sleeping bags, which by itself would be pretty light.

They are very comfortable, been a few naps taken sitting in them.

Thanks for the report, Ruth-

I'm glad you enjoyed your loop - it's a nice area. The Canoe-Pine portage is a tough one though.

Thanks for the well documented report and a lead on the chairs. Did you dine at the Trail Center or Trails End? I think you meant Trail Center because that is very close to where you were. I agree, there's nothing better than a bunkhouse and a hot shower before and after.

Thank you for the packed down photo and description of the chair. I am going to look into it as a luxury item as well.
