Afterthoughts:
-I REALLY enjoyed this trip. I am very fortunate for my friends.

-All evidence indicates the kids enjoyed the trip; it was a nice, little “starter” adventure. Since their happiness (I say) was the primary goal of this trip… I am pleased.

-My canoe really floats great and I LOVE it… except when I’m portaging it. ? The future probably doesn’t hold long portages with that canoe. That said, the best canoe is the one you have!

-My food packing was spot on; I fussed about quantity when planning, but in the end… I think I nailed it. Very cool.

-Fishing net is probably the only superfluous gear; I used all the rest.

-Food pail with Gamma Lid ROCKS; it’s an airtight container, it’s a table, it’s a chair.

-I’m ready for a longer trip now.

-My forgetting the food pail when leaving home proved the value of checklists; now you know why experienced pilots use checklists before every flight.

Be Nice -Swede

Thanks for the report. I can almost feel that sinking feeling in your gut once you realized you forgot the food. Yikes.

Always be the second one in the outhouse, it's going to smell anyway so you might as well have a warm seat.

Glad you had a good trip, enjoyed the report. I too have found that checklists are good, but...only if I use them :).
