Trip Introduction:
Few days on Crocodile fishing for Walleyes

Report

Thanks to the Bearskin Lodge for the canoes. The paddle is pretty easy to the one and only portage into Crocodile Lake. The portage is not too long, but as many have already said, it is very steep the first 1/3 and will kick your butt.

We were lucky enough to get the 2nd campsite in, which was truly the best on the lake. Crocodile Lake has the reputation of being a good Walleye lake. We must have just been a week too early because our fishing was horrible. We did catch some nice eaters, but for the effort we should have had way more. Best luck with jigs and leeches just off the bottom. It's an odd lake to fish as the middle of the lake is like 10-15 feet at the most.

Otherwise weather was great besides some rain and it's a very peaceful lake with little to no traffic. Would be a good starter trip for first timers.
