It was a blast. It's kind of funny, I mentioned to my wife that we should take a couple's trip without the kids and our oldest gave me the look of "no way you are going there without me again!" lol

You sure have a couple of keepers there! Alex reminds me of my daughter at that age (she's 31 now). The pics of her holding fish are just precious. :-)

Always cool to introduce your children to camping.

Fun report and pictures. Your daughters are blessed to have someone show them the wilderness.

Nice report...Kind of wished I had girls instead of boys....but love my boys anyways! I finally have a daugther (in law) - it is great to finally have 2 females in the family! Loved your report...that is a gorgeous part of the BWCA!

Thanks everyone!
WE most certainly will be going back. I'll have to start accumulating some different supplies to be able to do a loop inthe future.

Now, this is a great story. Grandpa and his buddy and the son and his daughters. Wow I really like that a lot. Everyone will always remember this one, as memories like this are what make life so darn enjoyable. Thanks for sharing.

Nice! I already want to go on our trip (Saturday!) with my two girls, and reading this makes me even more eager. Mine are 11 and 2.75 and we are doing a similar approach (camping outside the BW with day trips). If all goes well, next year we'll do a real trip. How old will the 2 year old be next summer? Early 2 or later 2? We'll see how she does, but I think it's going to go very well with our little one...I'll let you know.

My son will be 2 on July 15, 2011. THis is only my second trip and the bugs were virtually non-existant on both trips at the end of July, so i may stick with that time of year.
