Trip Introduction:
Paul, Mitch, Chris and I enjoyed our 8-day fall canoe trip to the Boundary Waters from Sept. 29 - Oct. 7. We experienced the usual beautiful scenery, solitude and wonderful fish meals. But this trip, we also had great star gazing due to a new moon and an active Aurora! It was yet another great trip! We also had low water levels and windy daytime conditions. There were surprisingly few people... a couple nights, we were convinced we had Malberg Lake all to ourselves! Due to the dry conditions, a campfire ban went into affect while we were in the Boundary Waters. Since we didn't receive word of the ban, we continued to have small evening and morning fires.
